A Quick Salute to the Scorpio Stare (Via the Ascendant)
Rock star Prince was recently photographed at an indoor basketball game with dark sunglasses on. When someone asked me why he would exhibit such a bizarre habit, I immediately told them that he had a Scorpio Rising and that his eyes were so expressive and intense that onlookers could be put in a trance without protection.
And it’s true his eyes are so emotive — perhaps THE MOST emotive I’ve ever seen because he has both a Scorpio Ascendant and Pluto conjunct the Midheaven (which governs how he expresses himself in his career. Man is that Scorpio energy obvious!). Both of these axes are types of outer expressions. He is doubly outed as an intense, emotional, sexual, mystical Plutonic character.
To have Scorpio energy on outward display is scary, since it is such a private sign. Luckily I have a Capricorn Ascendant to keep my Scorpio energy on the downlow. But Scorpio Risings have no such protection.
They are totally exposed and the eyes reveal everything. Is this why Prince wears glasses and Clint Eastwood squints…. whatever it takes to hide these ever-revealing orbs.
Arent’ these the most overwhelming and spell-binding eyes you’ve ever seen?
From top to bottom:
Susan Dey, actress
Sigmund Freud, philosopher
Tori Amos, singer
River Phoenix, actor
Clint Eastwood, actor
And finally, the ultimate Scorpio EYES go to iconic Scorpio Rising actress Bette Davis who made the Plutonic stare so legendary that Kim Carnes wrote a musical ode called “Bette Davis Eyes”
