Wild Things? Scorpios & Black Sheep Capricorns Have a Lot in Common

Wild Things? Scorpios & Black Sheep Capricorns Have a Lot in Common

Despite Capricorn’s reputation for being a unisex, matronly, straight-laced, do-gooding, rule-policing bore, Capricorns can be every bit as rebellious, sexual, ruthless and scandalous as Scorpios. Could it be that  zodiac rulers Saturn & Pluto overwhelm both astrology signs so much that they are prone to overindulge in shock and vice? Think Cappies are too straight-laced for that? Let’s do a pop culture rewind. The original sensuous Cat Woman, Eartha Kitt who was known for her deep idiosyncratic growl and tight suit, was a Capricorn. Eighties Prince protege Vanity, who once snaked across a kitchen floor in lingerie singing “Pretty Mess” while under a cocaine haze, was a Capricorn. I’m pretty sure Kid Rock could tempt even a nun to share a beer and joint. He’s just so raw and rugged — and yet clearly sensitive. Capricorn! Let’s not forget the hip-swiveling Elvis who destroyed prim social traditions just by translating sexualized bluesy rock into a mainstream package. Capricorn! Capricorns have got to be the most diverse tribe in the...

12 Philosophies of Love: Taurus, Gemini, Cancer (Part 2 of 4)

12 Philosophies of Love: Taurus, Gemini, Cancer (Part 2 of 4)

4. Taurus & The Code of Physical Chemistry Nosediving into the cloud of a lover’s natural perfumes, the raw feel of succulent flesh, the sound of whispered erotica or a masterfully created concerto, the taste of an aged Sauvignon during foreplay, the view of a naked body’s finely chiseled hourglass afterwards….The lightning that strikes through the skin’s capillaries when any of the above occurs with just the right mate. What would love be without any of that? Yeah, yeah, yeah, we must be mentally in sync and have parallel values. But we are, after all, incarnate vessels. Is anything — especially something as intangible as love — real until it is carnal? Unless the Universe anoints a coupling with the elusive physical chemistry that can’t be faked or concocted — should you really be together?Thank Taurus for the alchemy that’s cemented love sagas for centuries. Stronger than Leo’s fleeting lust and more grounded than Scorpio’s obsession, Taurus’ gift of chemistry can keep lovers returning to each other again and again. This Fixed...

What Do You Love? Venus & Instant Attraction

What Do You Love? Venus & Instant Attraction

Venus is your love planet. People are drawn to relationships based on their Venus and their Moon. The moon is what holds the key to what we subconsciously need to feel secure in a relationship. The moon must be satisfied for long-term relationship bliss. However, the first spark of lust or kinship is based on the Venus. The astrological sign or house that the Venus is in can reveal what traits you love about someone and what piques an instant attraction.  Venus’ interplay with other planets are also revelatory. Since planets, houses, and signs come with so much complex energy, not everyone with Venus in the same situation will have the same passions and loves. Example. I have Venus in Sagittarius. I am attracted to the the Sagittarius trait of wisdom and high ideals. My Venus is also conjunct Mercury, which is the planet of the mind and of intelligence. I like smart guys. Period. I don’t look at a guy and fall in love. I hear him and become lustful....

A Look at Boy George’s Uranus-Mars Conjunction

A Look at Boy George’s Uranus-Mars Conjunction

Ahh, to have Leo on the fifth house. Pleasure and passion seemlessly pulsalting. Must be nice …. unless you have residing there a Mars & Uranus bearhugging in a tight conjunction. Then, the situation gets a little dicey & too footloose. As is the case with Boy George who years ago was sentenced to 15 months in jail for chaining a hired sex boy toy to his bedroom wall. Hey, that’s just a normal activity for a person with Mars-Uranus conjunction in the 5th. Boy George was so unfazed by his conviction that he launched a string of concerts. When the courts have slapped him with actual jail time, he had no choice but to put the conjunction on lockdown. That’s hard to do without court help. And a little help from Saturn, which he subsequently got, thanks to a transit. A Mar-Uranus conjunction in the fifth house can honor the lust for indulgence in really reckless ways. Mars guides behaviors and Uranus is master of the strange and the...

Venus Square Neptune & Violent love

Venus Square Neptune & Violent love

(Originally written in March 2009) Rihanna. Tina Turner. Whitney Houston. All have suffered domestic abuse. All have Venus square Neptune in their natal charts. All have been abused by men with Venus-Pluto aspects. The merging of Venus and Neptune energy is highly romantic and disillusioning. It is willing to endure and to pretend not to see a myriad of evils in defense of love. Because Neptune has an element of suffering and self-sacrifice if natives of Venus-Neptune aspects encounter violence it is often endured and absorbed as a part of the love relationship. I talked about this in a January blog post “Venus Bites Neptune,” which lauded more harmonious angles between Venus and Neptune, such as conjunctions, trines, sextiles. I theorized this added a thrilling enjoyment of pleasure pain. However, in that post I alluded to the square as being harsher and more violent. Using the painter Gauguin as an example, I discussed how he abused his wife and depicted love and violence together in his art. Venus square...

The Rock Does Disney … Again . What Some People Won’t Do to Make Up for a Lack of Water Planets

The Rock Does Disney … Again . What Some People Won’t Do to Make Up for a Lack of Water Planets

(Originally written in 2009) What is a macho specimen like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson doing in another Disney movie? Is this the warrior from “The Scorpion King”? Is this the man who kicked butt in “Walking Tall”? Did he or did he not pass Arnold Schwarzeneggar in a scene in “The Rundown” as a symbolic passing of the action hero torch? So why is he not in any action movies? Why did he do the cute as pie “The Game Plan” and now he’s coming to theaters in “Race to Witch Mountain”! Let me repeat, “Race to Witch Mountain”! And do you know what’s next? “The Tooth Fairy!!!” A gorgeous, chiseled and sensual Taurus by Sun sign, The Rock has no water planets and like many who lack an element seems to be overcompensating by working overtime in the realm of the missing element. Water is emotion. Cue the waterworks of sappy, family-style Disney Movies. What a waste of bravado and sexiness. I mean, I’ll watch him in anything...

Aries & Capricorn; This is Bloody Murder

Overview Aries is the outlaw. Capricorn is the police. This stick’em up story will not end well. The Good Strength and bossiness are Capricorn’s strong suit. Since Aries has similar traits, they have a natural, tense respect for one another — much like a gangster has for a really good opponent. Capricorn works so hard, it’s difficult to have fun. Aries will release Capricorn from a dark life comprised of too much office and social climbing and not enough nose to the wind. Aries is an engine who is headstrong and confident enough to make anything happen. Capricorn admires those who strive to succeed as ably as Aries and will be instantly smitten — The best aphrodisiac for Capricorn is pure competence. Aries likes a conquest in love. Capricorn’s private nature and tendency to wear a poker face while keeping emotions locked away will rile Aries who will be obsessed with becoming the one who can get Capricorn to reveal what’s beneath the surface. For dates, Aries must take...

Aries & Virgo: A Hot Mess!

OverviewVirgo is the sign of the cautious, meticulous servant. Aries is a reckless, messy ball of energy who throws mud all over Virgo’s freshly waxed floors — for better and for worse.[smartads] The GoodVirgo often misses out on the good things in life because they want to weigh all the pros and cons before making a decision. Aries is good for Virgo because Aries will push Virgo in front of a speeding train and then determine whether there’s time to jump before the locomotive makes impact. This might sound bad, but Virgo needs a shake up every now and then. And Aries needs someone to teach them how to take care of practical matters even if it’s boring. In Love, Aries will spur Virgo to take risks and approach life as a hot air balloon ride rather then a long to-do list. The BadAries is messy. Virgo is a neat freak. Living together will be trauma. Virgo will make homemade meals and put a nice rose on a tray...
