Why Scorpios Love Arguments & Confrontation in Relationships

Why Scorpios Love Arguments & Confrontation in Relationships

Private though we are, Scorpios love invasion, confrontation and conflict — especially when they are the ones igniting it. Australian Astrologer Milton Black once said that if things are going easy and there’s no conflict, Scorpios will either consciously or subconsciously create it to feel COMFORTABLE.   Scorpio is ruled by Pluto, the planet of power, as well as by Mars, which is a warrior planet that bestows pugilist energy. Scorpios, therefore, are very Mars -aware, particularly if Mars is in a first house or otherwise accented strongly in the natal chart. This co-ruling planet gives Scorpios serious aggression. They can either project it outwards or keep it inward and self-destruct. Some Scorpios are known for self-destruction, but outer release of the aggression is the favored way to go. Scorpios are compelled on an almost spiritual level toward power clashing, sexy tension, and fun flirty wars. They will enjoy provoking and riling people. This will be considered fun even if it seems wicked. If someone has the passion and...

A Look at Boy George’s Uranus-Mars Conjunction

A Look at Boy George’s Uranus-Mars Conjunction

Ahh, to have Leo on the fifth house. Pleasure and passion seemlessly pulsalting. Must be nice …. unless you have residing there a Mars & Uranus bearhugging in a tight conjunction. Then, the situation gets a little dicey & too footloose. As is the case with Boy George who years ago was sentenced to 15 months in jail for chaining a hired sex boy toy to his bedroom wall. Hey, that’s just a normal activity for a person with Mars-Uranus conjunction in the 5th. Boy George was so unfazed by his conviction that he launched a string of concerts. When the courts have slapped him with actual jail time, he had no choice but to put the conjunction on lockdown. That’s hard to do without court help. And a little help from Saturn, which he subsequently got, thanks to a transit. A Mar-Uranus conjunction in the fifth house can honor the lust for indulgence in really reckless ways. Mars guides behaviors and Uranus is master of the strange and the...

The Scorpio Moon Chemistry of Beyonce & Lady Gaga

The Scorpio Moon Chemistry of Beyonce & Lady Gaga

(Originally written in 2009 )   The camraderie and chemistry between the taboo-taunting Lady Gaga and the formerly pristine Beyonce, who once pitched herself as just a sweet, wholesome Jesus-loving Southern girl, comes as no surprise since they share Scorpio Lunar energy. But make no mistake about it, the repeat alliance between the two has revised Beyonce’s brand and image forever. Even before Lady Gaga reached pop stardom, Beyonce, whose Moon is at 4 degrees Scorpio, seemed to be aware of the budding artist and gravitated toward her in spirit. Beyonce came out with a custom metal gloves, blind-folds, and robotic attire, mimicking some of the risque costumes that the up-and-coming Gaga was wearing across the Atlantic. These props stood out because did not match Beyonce’s songs and seemed out of place. Many people accused Beyonce of simply lifting the schtick from Gaga for attention– as well known artists often do to novices on the upward climb. Beyonce had been known for bubble gum dance grooves, but suddenly she...

5 Ways to Get De-Friended by a Scorpio

5 Ways to Get De-Friended by a Scorpio

You may have heard of Xtreme Sports where participants practice daredevil feats with little protection, great courage and great pain. You have? Fabulous. Now you know what it’s like to ride or die with a Scorpio. Let’s call it Xtreme bonding. There are NO casual relationships to Scorpios. Palling around with a Scorpio is like a boxer taking off his gloves and going bare fisted in a cage with a mixed martial artist. It is raw. It is intense. It can be ugly. There will be combats. You will bleed. But you will also love the rush of adrenaline. (Or at least they will.) Scorpio is associated with the 8th house of the Other, which is all about intimacy and intense relating. They are devoted to finding meaningful connections whether completely platonic, romantic or in between. Not everyone gets to be a friend of a Scorpio because they are extremely distrustful. They observe a world filled with superficiality and materialism and are doubtful (and scared) that few will share...

How Pluto helped Anne Rice change Vampire Culture forever.

How Pluto helped Anne Rice change Vampire Culture forever.

We can thank Anne Rice’s Pluto for making vampires more sexy, than scary. Before that, did anyone really want to screw Dracula? As the modern day Twilight vampire series digs its fangs into pop culture I can’t help but to reminisce about Rice, who’s now defected and gone to the hyperreligious side — a typical hazard of an active Pluto (the need to capsize everything for something new. Pluto conjunct Ascendant native Madonna and Scorpio Ascendant Prince have also left darker Plutonic personas for religious ones. It happens). Rice may not have Scorpio rising (her birth time isn’t listed on Astrotheme). However, the always dressed in black Rice, born Oct. 14, 1941, does have a Scorpio Venus and Mercury — the two planets which drove her fictional writing. Plus, Pluto, Scorpio’s ruler, aspects all but one of her personal planets. It is sextile her Sun, trine her Moon, square her Mercury and opposite her Mars, It also strikes her Jupiter in a semi-square. Rice was touched in every way,...

Scorpios & Forbidden Love Affairs

Scorpios & Forbidden Love Affairs

“If a Scorpio feels destined to sync with someone, nothing will stop it, certainly not some arbitrary man-made morality.” Julia Roberts. Vivian Leigh. Dorothy Dandridge. As much as these Scorpio starlets are known for their Hollywood glamour they are also known for their Scorpio love affairs with married men. With Scorpio & its ruler Pluto being associated with the 8th house — the house of other people’s property — I think it’s safe to say that O.P.P., made famous in the ’90s rap song, is a zodiac hazard. OK, Thrill. Destiny? Well, maybe just a zodiac situation Scorpios (and other 8th house types) might consciously or unconsciously find themselves in whether by personal design or happenstance. The 8th house, with its obsession for sex and psychology and the dark edges of life also involves the experience of benefiting or receiving fortune through things belonging to others. Mostly this is discussed in terms of money and inheritance, but let’s be real here, it can involve a wide range of other...

Venus Square Neptune & Violent love

Venus Square Neptune & Violent love

(Originally written in March 2009) Rihanna. Tina Turner. Whitney Houston. All have suffered domestic abuse. All have Venus square Neptune in their natal charts. All have been abused by men with Venus-Pluto aspects. The merging of Venus and Neptune energy is highly romantic and disillusioning. It is willing to endure and to pretend not to see a myriad of evils in defense of love. Because Neptune has an element of suffering and self-sacrifice if natives of Venus-Neptune aspects encounter violence it is often endured and absorbed as a part of the love relationship. I talked about this in a January blog post “Venus Bites Neptune,” which lauded more harmonious angles between Venus and Neptune, such as conjunctions, trines, sextiles. I theorized this added a thrilling enjoyment of pleasure pain. However, in that post I alluded to the square as being harsher and more violent. Using the painter Gauguin as an example, I discussed how he abused his wife and depicted love and violence together in his art. Venus square...

Where is Scorpio Anne Hathaway’s Darkness & Edge?

Where is Scorpio Anne Hathaway’s Darkness & Edge?

(Originally written in February 2009) Recent Oscar nominee Anne Hathaway baffles me. She seems like the most non-Scorpio person ever. Very vanilla and indistinct. Too chirpy and smiley. Too self-deprecating. And attraction to all all these sugary sweet veneer movies a la “The Princess Diaries,” “Ella Enchanted,” etc. Yet, she has a stellium in Scorpio (Sun, Venus, Jupiter, Mercury) which I find absurd to the point that I’d actually like to see her birth certificate to see if she’s lying. Yes, I know Scorpio’s come in many flavors, but some things — like a undercurrent of dark, powerful energy — is generally pretty standard. Is she simply a good masker? Her time of birth is not noted on Astrotheme. Her Ascendant and Midheaven would certainly be good clues to this puzzle. Yes, she has a Libra Moon that could account for uber politeness and courtesies as well as her smiley & eager to please nature — but that moon is conjunct Pluto! so the mystery continues. Even Barbara Walters...
