Neptune Trine Mercury: Why is it so easy to Fool Oprah?

(Originally written in December 2008)

The phone rings. A woman answers.
Me: Hello? Oprah? I was wondering if you wanted to buy a slightly used alien from Zobitron that I’ve been keeping in my Scorpio sex dungeon for three years. Yes. He’s amazing. He is the next generation in boyfriends — way better than Stedman. And he has an extra appendage — Hello? You’re sending Gayle over with the $3 million. Thanks!

Once again, news has broken that Oprah endorsed another fabricated story as part of her Book Club. She has no Earth planets, which can make one a little detached from concrete reality … even making them a little, dare I say, gullible.

But besides lacking Earth, Oprah has her Neptune trine an Aquarius Mercury. Having this short-circuit between the mind and imagination can be fabulous, making one creative and artistic. But delusions can travel that circuit, casting a veil over thoughts.

Mixed that with Oprah’s Sagittarius Moon and you have a personality who’s so passionately optimistic they are willing to believe what Neptune is whispering to their brain cells. ]

So, Herman Rosenblat didn’t have much difficulty in pitching his memoir “Angel at the Fence” to Oprah whose endorsement of course made it a bestseller and the basis for a movie deal. The story details a rather remarkable story of falling in love during the Holocaust. He wrote that while facing death in a World War II concentration camp in Germany a woman separated from him by a fence, gave him food — bread and a daily apple for months — and encouragement, keeping his spirits up until he was freed right before being gassed. They later married. To think that fate could have arranged that is unbelievable isn’t it? Well, it’s a lie. He was in a camp. But he and his wife didn’t meet until much afterward in New York City on a blind date.

Yes. I know he fooled his publisher and others, but Oprah made the book a phenomeon. It wouldn’t have been so bad if she had just said she read it and it was good. But, you know how Aquarius people can be amazed by everything? Well, mix in that Sag moon and you get a response to amazement that is hyperbole to the 10th power.

Oprah called the book “the single greatest love story we’ve ever told.”
Audiences swooned.

Winfrey all once pushed a fabricated memoir by James Frey.

Neptune trine Mercury with little earth is a dangerous thing.
