Pluto in the First House? Dude Acts Like a Scorpio!
People of any sign born with Pluto in the first house are known lovingly in the Zodiac community as Plutonians and adapt a persona eerily akin to Scorpios — but not quite as marvelous.
These natives give off Scorpionic energy because Pluto, the ruler of Scorpio, resides in their house of self-expression. The stronger or more dominant Pluto is — whether by aspect, sign or other elevated status– the more Scorpio-like their behavior and physicality.
The first house in a natal chart governs outwardly expressed personality, which involves everything from our appearance and dress style to how we behave under duress or in the company of people who are strangers and those we don’t wish to reveal our deepest selves to. It governs how we see ourselves and how we actualize ourselves.
Of course Pluto in the first house doesn’t alone shape self-identity or self-expression. It gets help from the Ascendant and any other planets in the first house or in tight aspect to planets in the first house.
Pluto in the First House Personality Traits
Like Scorpios, those with Pluto in the first house are intense, whether in an ostentatious or an understated way. They have inside a powerful energy that to some might even feel electric. Depending on the strength of their Pluto, this energy can allow First House Plutos to be Pied Piper personalities, able to lead cults or inspire social revolutions — this can apply to anyone with super-concentrated Scorpio, 8th house, Sun conjunct Pluto and other Plutonian energy, that is if the person chooses not to be a loner and overly private, which is another trend for Pluto-influenced people.
People with Pluto in the First House may be controlling not only of their environment but of anyone they admit into their environment. They likely are passionately emotional, but the extent to which they show it depends on their moon sign. They might also be mysterious and prone to transforming their image or looks in cycles. Otherwise, they may go through non-physical, inner transformations.
Pluto in the first house people might be provocative or even rebellious and subversive, rejecting rules, social customs and expectations. They definitely don’t care what society or authorities think (although you can’t tell that by how defensive they get!)
First House Pluto people might be accused of having strongly combative or ferocious personalities, whether they actually do or not.
Some can be sexy in a magnetic way that makes them irresistible. Pluto does after all govern obsession. Plutonians might , in fact, be obsessed with sex and hyper-sexual in their activities.
On the flip side, because Pluto governs the underworld, mysticism and the occult, these folks might, instead of sexy, be scary or sinister-looking! They might relish fear, being creepy and indulging the dark side of life. Even for those who aren’t creepy, don’t rule out their power to attract the creepiest people as associates.
Obviously, not all Plutonians express all these traits consistently because individuals can use the same Zodiac energy differently; but they will definitely express some of these characteristics as signature parts of their personality.
Some famous Pluto in First House people include:
- Shannen Doherty, known for her feisty and ferocious personality.
- Stephen King – the master of the scary story! He creates fear like no one else.
- Kurt Cobain, tortured, rebellious and deeply emotional.
- Dalai Lama, both a rebel and a powerful inspirational figure who uses his intense power and presence to motivate, teach and help others in addition to transforming society.
If only all Pluto in the First House people can be as exciting as those above.
Attracted to Scorpios?
Regarding Scorpios, folks with Pluto in the first house may or may not get along with Scorps. Many are repulsed by Scorpios and feel a kind of rivalry. These pseudo Scorpionic people might find themselves in conflict or fights with true Scorpios. However, some first house Plutos attract and adore both Scorpio Suns and Scorpio Moons. They might even find themselves attracting Scorpio risings, although rarely for anything more than friendship. A Pluto in the first house person might see Scorpios as distant kindreds but not necessarily great romantic partners.
When the Pluto is in the first house and conjunct the Ascendant, Scorpio features are even more prominent. No matter what though, people with Pluto in the First House will never fully match Scorpio’s nature. They can only give a good imitation and their own sun signs will always be there, somewhere, shaping their primary ego.
In astrology, the Sun sign is always the head coach in life; Pluto in the first, if strongly situated, can be the assistant.
