Why Did Robert Wagner Love Natalie Wood So– despite so much Red-inked astro opposition??! Blame it on the Moon!
Our favorite Aquarius the dashing Robert Wagner, formerly of Hart to Hart fame, visited The View today, hawking his latest memoir “Pieces of My Heart.”
If it seems strange for an aloof Aqua to speak of “heart” and write a gushy memoir, let me point out that he had a watery deeply-emotional Cancer Moon.
So, it’s no surprise that he was glued to Natalie Wood, a Cancer Sun. They were so hooked — he married her twice! They couldnt stay away from each other.
I have found, that no matter what the sun-moon conjunction is one of the most powerful there is. If you have that, go strong and damn the rest. It can sustain people through a myriad of squares & oppositions (just look at all that red ink above! Click to make larger).
While I think the sign on the 7th house is very telling as far as attraction, a moon-sun conjunction seems to create the desperate longing and need for one another.
When Natalie Wood fell — or was pushed off the boat– that fateful day in 1981, she was in her second marriage to Wagner. They instantly fell in love then all those oppositions pushed them out of love.
Then one night when they were both with other mates they ran into each other at a party and that sun-moon synergy flared up… they left together — and then parted each other in tears.
Soon after, they remarried.
Wagner’s love for Natalie Wood drove him to jealousy — a rare Aquarian trait. In his memoir, Wagner mentions stalking another man who loved Natalie and sitting outside his house with a shot gun. Damn.
Also, on the night Natalie was killed, Christopher Walken, reportedly a secret lover of Wood, got into an argument with Wagner over Wood. Wagner thought Wood was being “emotionally unfaithful” the story goes. It didn’t help that Walken was siding with Wood in a discussion over whether she should work alot or tend to family. Robert wanted the latter.
After the argument, which may have even turned physical, Robert and Walken stayed on deck to cool off. Natalie went below to go to sleep.
Wagner’s says when he went to check on her later, she was gone. They couldn’t find her. She was found the next morning in the water. She’d drowned. He theorized that she had, despite her fear of water, tried to go to shore alone using a dingy.
Walken won’t talk about that night till this day.
Tragedy for sure.
After Wood died, Wagner was depressed. For years. She really had a hold on him. It’s rather remarkable considering a bounty of squares and oppositions suggest they should have never been together. Yet, she was the love of his life.
So, for the charts I’ve done lately where there’s been a lot of opposition, I offer this love story as a salve.
Wagner also had a bit of Cancer on his 7th house (yay!) That pulled him toward Natalie’s Sun. All that with his Cancer Moon conjunct her Sun sealed the deal. IF you have these traits in a relationship, I’d say, ignore everything else, especially if you have a strong Venus link to a sun or ascendant.
(on the other forum we talked about how Stefanie Powers and Robert Wagner got along so well on screen — with the chemistry electrifying the set. Well, Power’s had an Aquarius Ascendant (see left) and Wagner’s Venus was in Aquarius . As I’ve said before that suggests she externally projects what his Venus craves). Because this energy is so external — it’s no wonder it was so visible on screen. It’s no wonder all those YouTube clips show them holding hands during entire interviews 🙂 ) Ascendant ties tend to be quite physical.
Despite his long-standing affection for Stefanie, Wood had him by the heart — or rather by the Moon.
** Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor married twice. He was a Sun Scorp. She was a Scorp Moon.
Got any other Moon-Sun conjunction love tales from people with strong chart oppostions?? Let me know!
